Do Dham Yatra | Kedarnath & Badrinath
Set at an elevation of 3,583 meters above sea level, the Kedarnath Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Surrounded by the beauty of the magnificent Himalayas, it is said that the original structure of the temple was built by the Pancha Pandavas, who later rebuilt it with Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, resulting in the current temple structure.
The second destination of the trip, or more precisely, the second Dham of this do Dham yatra, is the Badrinath temple. Named after the Badri tree under which Lord Vishnu meditated, the temple is situated at a height of 3,300 meters above sea level, depicting Lord Vishnu in his meditative form. With a unique black idol of Lord Vishnu, this temple was established by Adi Shankara, a renowned scholar and teacher of Vedic traditions. The temple not only has a powerful holy energy surrounding it, but also a serene sense of calm, as it is located on the banks of the auspicious Alaknanda River.
