It is located in the Garhwal Himalayas and is often called the “Valley of Gods.” This trek is perfect for beginners as well as experienced trekkers who want to enjoy snow peaks, green meadows, rivers, and traditional mountain villages.
Har Ki Dun Valley stands at an altitude of around 3,560 meters above sea level. The trail takes you deep into the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary area. You walk through pine forests, wooden bridges, riverside paths, and open grasslands. The natural beauty of this Himalayan valley trek makes it one of the most searched trekking destinations in North India.
In the mountains, you realize that nature’s beauty isn’t a place to visit, it’s a way of being. And it cannot be truer about the beautiful Har Ki Dun Trek. Though it might sound like an over-exaggeration of its beauty, once you set foot on the trek, its beauty is bound to take your breath away. Full of natural wonders, the views here are heavenly. In fact, found in the ancient epic of Mahabharata, the trek is known for leading the Pandava brothers towards heaven.
The journey usually starts from Dehradun or Rishikesh and continues by road to Sankri, which is the base village. From Sankri, the trek begins towards Taluka, Osla, and finally to Har Ki Dun Valley. The total trekking distance is around 45–50 km, completed in 6 to 7 days.
This is a moderate difficulty trek. The walking distance each day is comfortable for people with basic fitness. It is a great choice for first-time Himalayan trekkers. Families, solo travelers, and groups often choose this trek for its safe trail and clear route.
One of the main highlights of the Har Ki Dun trek package is the stunning view of Swargarohini peaks. The valley opens up with wide mountain views that look magical, especially in the morning and evening light. During winter, the entire region turns white with snow. In summer, the valley is covered with greenery and wildflowers.
Trekkers also pass through Osla village, which is known for its old wooden houses and local culture. You get to see the simple life of the mountain people. This cultural experience makes the Har Ki Dun valley trek more than just a trekking trip.
For those looking for adventure, there is an optional trek to Jaundhar Glacier from Har Ki Dun campsite. This adds more thrill and gives a closer view of Himalayan glaciers.
You know what they say: the higher you go, the clearer you see—both the world around you and the one within. The best way to get higher is to go on a trek. What can be better than a 7-day long, with the highest altitude level of 12000 feet, with only 43 kilometres of distance to be covered, that too both ways.
With an easy-moderate difficulty, you do not have to worry much about your trekking skills. However, your safety is our priority; therefore, we ensure that you are led by expert guides and a team of staff helps you along the trek. And in emergencies, there are always options for rescues even while you are on the trek.
