The Rudranath trek is the epitome of spiritual adventure. During this five-day-long activity, you get to get close to not only the supreme but also in the most natural way possible. Having its origin in the Hindu Holy Scripture, the Mahabharata, the Rudranath Temple is to be built by the Pandava brothers seeking atonement from Lord Shiva after the war. The temple is one of the Panch Kedar pilgrimage sites, where the face of Shiva, disguised as a bull, emerged.

When it comes to spirituality and devotion, there is no right or wrong to connect with the supreme. Every individual is allowed to have a personal relationship with the deity. And if your connection is based on a raw natural experience, then the Rudranath trek is the way for you. Located at a height of 2,286 meters in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.

Day 01 :

Rishikesh/Haridwar/Dehradun to Sagar Village. (240 km Drive)

Your first day of the Rudranath Trek will start in Rishikesh/Haridwar/Dehradun early in the morning after breakfast and end in Sagar village. You will travel to Sagar village in clean and comfortable vehicles, covering the 240 km distance over 10-11 hours of journey. On the way towards the destination, you will pass through beautiful towns like Devprayag and Rudraprayag. These two are situated in the Alaknanda and Mandakini confluence, respectively. Once you reach the location, you can check into your pre-booked accommodation. Once settled in, you can either rest or interact with local people and get a glimpse of the village.

Day 02 :

Sagar Village to Lyuti Bugyal (8 km Trek)

After a hearty breakfast, start your journey towards your next stop from Sagar to Lyuti Bugyal Trek. This trek is about 8 km long. The trek leads you through farm fields and rocky, dusty trek routes, but once you reach the top, you will witness the most beautiful view of the Himalayan region. Enjoy an overnight stay in the campsite in your tents under the starry sky at night.

Day 03 :

Trek to Rudranath Temple and back to Lyuti Bugyal (20 km round trip Trek)

After a good night's sleep, wake up to the sun rising on day three. You’ll be served an early breakfast at your campsite before you start your journey to the Rudranath temple. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the route as you witness some of the most prominent Himalayan peaks, such as Nanda Devi, Nanda Ghunti, and Trishul.

As the trail is set in thick, dense forests, you also witness the wildlife up close. If time allows, you can visit nearby ponds, like Surya Kund and Tara Kund. Upon arrival, visit the temple and seek the darshan of Lord Shiva. Post darshan, we will descend back to Lyuti Bugyal.

Day 04 :

Lyuti Bugyal to Sagar Village (8 km Trek)

On day four, wake up early, and after breakfast start your downhill journey towards the basecamp Sagar Village. Where you will have lunch. Post lunch, relax and explore nearby places. The total distance you will cover today is around 8 km and will take about 3-4 hours.

It is advisable to bring a water bottle and some snacks to stay hydrated during the journey. You will be served your evening snacks, followed by dinner. Post dinner, you can participate in group-bonding activities with co-participants or retire for the night.

Day 05 :

Drive from Sagar Village to Kalpeshwar and then to drop off point (240 km Drive)

Day five will be the last day of your activity. After waking up, you will return from Sagar to Rishikesh/Haridwar/Dehradun early in the morning while on the return journey you'll visit Kalpeshwar Temple. This will be a long journey of about 237 km. As the package includes pick-ups and drop-offs, you will be picked up in a clean and comfortable vehicle per the pre-communicated schedule.
